Elliott Associates have recently completed the role of Client Representative and Quantity Surveyor on a Registered Provider affordable housing project at St Mary’s (former School site), South Shields.
The development consists of 6nr 2 bed bungalows, 27nr 2 bed houses and 4nr 3 bed houses developed around a simple ‘Home Zone’ courtyard with a contemporary elevation treatment.
Key to the success of the project was the close involvement with the local community. This included pre-planning consultation at a series of public events, consultation by the design team with the planning authority and RIBA design panel, Elliott Associates cost input at these design stages was vital to ensure that Karbon Developments were able to deliver a high-quality project within strict cost and programme parameters.
The project was Shortlisted at the RICS North East Awards 2018 under the ‘Residential Development of the Year’ category.
