The Croft

The Croft is a purpose build, 21-bed residential care facility, built in the grounds of Minster Care Group’s existing Littleport Grange facility.

The existing facility remained open and fully occupied throughout the project generating a number of challenges which were dealt with by the project team through both design and construction solutions.  These included the provision of alternative parking facilities as an enabling works package and the involvement of the Littleport Grange management team throughout the project.

The project utilised a timber frame construction method to great effect. This ultimately resulted in a more economical construction programme and less disruption to the residents of the existing facility than would have been achieved through traditional construction. The site also included three historic air raid shelters and a number of preserved trees, which both required protection throughout the works.

Elliott Associates worked closely with both the Client and Contractor teams to overcome the project specific challenges, with the new facility ultimately being delivered under budget and on programme.
